1000 Acres was born from lived experience inside the cracks of a system that pretends those cracks don’t exist.
We are survivors, advocates, researchers, and community members who refuse to let truth be buried under bureaucracy, silence or political convenience.
We don’t wait for permission. We don’t soften the truth. We don’t abandon our own.

We are the people who lived this, witnessed it, and refused to let the truth be buried. This space exists to protect the record, honor lived experience, and ensure that what happened here is never erased again.
who we are
We are the 1000 Acres Initiative — a small, lived‑experience–led effort born out of the Sandy River Delta sweep. We’re not a nonprofit, an agency, or a campaign. We’re the people who were displaced, the people who stayed, and the people who refused to let what happened out here be erased or rewritten. Our work is about truth, receipts, and accountability — so East County can’t be treated like a disposable zone ever again.
